Lifegate Care is about creating services that help youth and families find freedom and purpose through the direct relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune, disability or helplessness in the community.

We have been dreaming about what it means for youth and families to live a life of freedom and to live a life of purpose. We believe a life of “freedom” is the ability to live a life in abundance that is healthy and thriving; physically, emotionally and spiritually. We believe a life of “purpose” is intentionally living a life in abundance that is healthy; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We recognise that Jesus is at the centre of all this but it also looks like the church bringing the kingdom of God into peoples lives through food, education, shelter, clothing, life coaching and other practical needs.

We currently run -

Lifegate Does Breakfast: Every Sunday morning we provide a free bbq breakfast for people in the community from 8.30am.

Community Dinner: Every Wednesday night we provide a free, home-cooked meal, for people in the community from 6.30pm.

Although it is acknowledged that in some ways this is only a small step, it is the start of being able to demonstrate that we are committed to meeting community needs. Through the food programs we are also able to freely provide some basic necessities such as blankets, socks, toothpaste etc, and they have allowed us to engage face to face with people who are in need. We use our food programs as a way to find out how we can assist people in finding freedom and purpose in their lives beyond the breakfast and the community dinner.
